Jenn Cain

Owner/Studio Director/Instructor

Competition Team Director

Competition Team Choreographer

Jenn Cain, a Fayetteville native, has studied multiple genres of dance since the age of four. She has studied, performed and competed in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, contemporary, pointe, tumbling, and clogging at regional and national level competitions, New York City, Disney World, and Carnival Cruise Lines. As a young dancer, she received numerous scholarships while attending dance competitions and was also a Dance Caravan Kid recipient. Jenn attended North Carolina Governor’s School as a modern dance student during her high school career. Upon graduation from Cape Fear High School, she received the prestigious Teaching Fellows Scholarship and graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education (K-12). She spent over 10 years teaching dance for Cumberland County Schools, where she brought tremendous growth to the dance program at Cape Fear High School by increasing enrollment to make it a full time position. Jenn started On Pointe Dance Center in the summer of 2014 where it began as a small one room studio with just a few students. As enrollment continued to grow Jenn made the decision in the summer of 2018 to move the studio from the original small Haymount location to a much larger three studio space in the Eutaw Village Shopping Center. In 2017, Jenn became a certified Acrobatic Arts teacher by completing their teacher training program to bring a safe progression based Acro syllabus to OPDC, a first for studios located in the Fayetteville area. Jenn also completed another Acrobatic Arts certification which recognizes her as an official Acrobatic Arts Competition Adjudicator where she travels the east coast to judge for multiple competition companies during the weekends. In the spring of 2019, Jenn completed the Progressing Ballet Technique teacher certification program which helps promote strength, control, and muscle memory in ballet technique in a non typical ballet setting, something OPDC students have thrived on in addition to their classical ballet classes. Jenn's most recent certification, Youth Protection Advocates in Dance Safety & Wellness Certification (YPAD) is also a first for the Fayetteville area. This ongoing certification requires advocates to be background checked and CPR/First Aid certified, along with with the skills and resources to protect and develop healthier and safer dance environments. Through the use of online courses and live seminars, YPAD educates dance professionals and communities worldwide on the core elements of constructing an environment focused on the well-being of kids and a sustainable, safe future for dance. Jenn has a true passion for teaching dance and enjoys being able to share her passion with her students!
