Acro Classes

All Acro Dance classes follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus and are taught by Miss Jenn, an Acrobatic Arts certified teacher. Pre School Acro is for ages 3-4 and follows the Pre School Acro Syllabus by Acrobatic Arts. Dancers age 5 and above would register for Acro Dance. Dancers will NOT be split up by age for classes.

For safety of all students in class and the ability to progress at a faster pace, classes are split by level. If a student is new to Acro Dance they would sign up for “Level P, 1, 2”. Arco Dance is different from gymnastics; therefore, a dancer with a gymnastics background should attend a trial class/private placement class. Dancers with previous Acro Dance experience at OPDC will be placed in the appropriate level for them individually. All level placements are decided by Miss Jenn, no exceptions. Dancers that pass the highest level in their class may move to the next level class if they pass the level by the end of December. Teen Acro is geared for dancers of ages 13+ that would be placed in the following levels: P, 1, 2, 3, & 4.

Dress Code Requirement: Acro classes must be in proper attire or they may not be permitted to tumble. Anyone with a t-shirt, baggy shorts, or a skirt will not be allowed to tumble as clothing like this gets in the way and may be a safety concern when landing tricks. Dancers should be in form fitting attire, preferably a leotard with shorts/leggings and footless/convertible tights allowing the dancer to have bare feet.
